Gimme Shelter Pet Adoption is a 501(c) 3 non-profit, charitable organization founded in 2005. We are a completely volunteer run organization whose purpose is to rescue animals out of overcrowded shelters where they are at risk for disease and euthanasia. The animals are fostered in volunteer foster homes where we can keep them loved, healthy, and socialized until they can be placed in permanent, loving homes. Our hope is that all the animals placed through our organization will never experience being homeless or unloved again.

Donations help with the cost of rescue which includes; shelter fees, medications, spay/neuter, all shots, heartworm testing and treatment, monthly flea/tick/heartworm preventatives, microchips, dentals, surgeries, skin treatments, and any other health care deemed necessary by our vets. Our vets offer reduced charges so that we can keep our adoption fees reasonable, but their services are not free. We often rely on extra donations to pay expenses when the cost of care exceeds a realistic adoption fee. No members or volunteers are paid in any way from donations. All monies go towards the care of our foster animals. Donations are tax deductible.

In addition to our foster care program Gimme Shelter is also produces a pet adoption TV show. The purpose of the show is to promote shelter adoption and imploring people to adopt, not shop. We have had countless shelter/rescue organizations on our show. Whether it be a cat, dog, bird, pot belly pig, horse, reptile, cow, ferret, hamster, chicken, if it needs a home we’re here to help. We really try to help the little known rescues. There are so many rescues that have very little resources and really do need our help. Very few have the ability to orchestrate a black tie fundraiser.

We typically shoot 2 shows per month and donate production time to create the show. It is my goal to educate this Community on the importance of spaying and neutering their animals and of course getting as many animals adopted as possible.

The host of the show, Michelle Sampson, a local animal lover extraordinaire has been volunteering with many organizations to help promote pet adoptions. Mom to 3 rescued pit bulls, Winston and Shakespeare and Danni California, Zoë the Pekingese and Burt the breeder dumped Chi Chi. With passion and witty humor, our host brings you up to speed on the reality of what is really happening with our overpopulation of dogs and cats, and implores you to join the fight, and lend a helping paw.

If you would like to help the show continue it’s smashing success, which will help get the pets out of the shelters and into loving homes, please become an Ambassador of Good Will and sponsor the show. THE SHELTER ANIMALS THANK YOU IN ADVANCE.
